Constance Lynn Letta (nee Hodges)
Connie Hodges Letta, age 70, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. Connie was born in Lynch, Kentucky, on June 30, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Virginia and Jack Hodges. She attended Central High School in Akron, where she was elected 1958 Homecoming Queen, and voted best dancer, prettiest smile, and most friendly. She graduated from Akron University with degrees in Technical Education, Associate Community Services, Criminal Justice, Liberal Arts and Political Science. After graduating, Connie spent the majority of her professional career with Jobs and Family Services of Akron until her retirement. She was active in many political causes and served as a National Delegate. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia and father, Jack Hodges. She is survived by her daughter, Shauna Letta; grandchildren, Alex Letta, Moriah Lyn, Elizabeth, Natalie-Andrea Tausch, and Jamie Pinkerton; sister, Jackie Ebner; niece, Shannon Arvai (John); nephew, Christopher Ebner; great-niece, Danielle (Roberto); and great-nephew, John. Calling hours will be held Monday, February 20 from 3-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Steve Bucy officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd.
