Corda "Skip" (Blankenship) Williams, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 12, 2010. She is finally together again with her beloved husband, Travis Leon Williams. Skip was born in Rock Castle, WV, on Sept. 16, 1923, and moved to Akron as a teen. She raised her family in Portage Lakes, OH and was a retired custodian from the Akron Public Schools. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed camping and spending many hours working in her yard. Skip leaves two sons, Kenneth (Sandra) Williams and Larry (Kathy) Williams both of Akron; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. She will be missed by all who know her. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 1 pm with Pastor Robert Shuey officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
