Corene Miller (nee Harrison) passed away on March 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Corene was born July 1, 1935 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Myrtle (nee Arthur) and James Harrison II.
Corene spent her early years in Atoka working alongside her 12 siblings and parents on the family farm. She migrated to Akron Ohio where she met Will Miller and began to build their large family tree.
She is survived by her six beautiful children Larry (Suyapa) Miller, Sheila (Gary) James, Dale (Lori) Miller, Annie (James) Bratcher, Pamela Cheatham, Curtiss (Barbara) Miller; her 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren (and 2 on the way).
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Will Miller, her many siblings, grandchildren Tanya Marie James and Gary Lee James II, great-grandson Solomon Curtiss Palmer, and son-in-law Samuel Cheatham.
Family and friends may call Thursday, 11am-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 131 N Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Please plan to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Flowers and cards may be sent to the Newcomer's address. A private funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours.
