Craig Eackelbary (aka T. Santana)
Craig Eackelbary, age 62, passed through heaven's gate on August 16, 2008. Craig was born November 27, 1945. He grew up in the North Hill area and attended North High School. Craig spent most of his adult life living in Cuyahoga Falls before moving to Rootstown. After high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he served four years. Craig bravely and proudly served his country as a Sergeant E5 in Vietnam. He worked at B.F. Goodrich for 20 years and then moved on to work at DL Express of Cleveland. His childhood passion was fishing at the Gorge with his dog Boy, brother, Irvin, and cousin Michael Sams. One of Craig's greatest passions in life was spending time with his loving family and attending all the sporting events his grandchildren participated in. Craig leaves behind his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 44 years, Connie Eackelbary; three adoring children, Craig (Michelle) Eackelbary, Kimberly (Marshall) Dillon, and Heather Eackelbary (Tim Kellogg); brother, Irvin (Becky) Eackelbary; sister-in-law, Beverly Miller; special cousin, Michael Sams of Manchester; loving grandchildren, Ashley Dillon, Matthew Dillon, Abigail Dillon, Taylor Eackelbary, and Zach Eackelbary. Craig also leaves behind a loving family of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a great-niece, Ella and numerous friends. The family would like to thank all of their family and friends for all the kindness, prayers, and love through this very difficult time. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
