Mother Cynthia E. Butler-Lusane went to a place of peace and eternal life to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Leamon and Maxine Rowland on December 8, 1940. In 1962 Cynthia met and married Henry Butler. To this union 5 children were born, Gregory, Tracy, Larry, Stacy and Henry L. She lived in Akron, OH for over 60 years and was affectionately known as "mama". She joined Living Stone Apostolic Church under the leadership of the late Elder James L. Gregory and then later under the leadership of Bishop Ralph Byrd, Jr. and became a mother of the church.
Cynthia retired from Akron Children's Hospital after 25 years of service and then returned to work at Rockynol as a chef for 19 years before retiring again. She enjoyed working and spending time at West Side Coney Island, cooking, shopping (her favorite store was Macy's), traveling with the Voices of Praise, watching game shows, lottery scratch-off tickets and she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Butler; second husband, Elmo Lusane, Sr.; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; 2 grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her children, Gregory, Tracy (Reggie) Boyer, Larry, Stacy (Gregory) Jackson, Henry L.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Sylvester) Cannon, Joanne Peoples; dedicated sister, Maryalice Randle; dedicated niece, Nicole Greathouse; step-children, Elmo Jr (Gloria), Patricia (Tony), Bertha; best friend, Katie Ellis.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Living Stone Apostolic Church, 587 S. Arlington St. The service will follow at 12 noon at the church.
