Dale E. Gower

Dale E. Gower, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family September 21st.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Melissa Gower ; brothers, Harvey & John; sisters, Geneva & Marilyn.

He is survived by Patricia, his loving wife of 53 years, son Michael, daughter Millie (Ed) Uhl, granddaughters Sara & Katie Uhl; nephews David Cooper, Brian (Amy) Cooper; brothers Robert Gower of Akron, Jim & Dick Gower of Grant Town, W.Va.

Dale was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served in the Korean conflict. He was a retired Teamster and most recently worked for Woodridge Local Schools.

Dale was a hard working and devoted Christian who deeply loved his wife and his family. He was especially proud of his granddaughters Sara & Katie. He enjoyed any opportunities to spend time with his family to share love, laughter and good food. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him and to love him.

Friends may call tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Road, Akron). Pastor Jon Stoltzfus will officiate at funeral services on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Church, (1160 Howe Ave., Cuyahoga Falls) followed by interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Dale's memory to the Great Commission Fund of the Christian Missionary Alliance in Care of Chapel Hill Church or Paws and Prayers Animal Rescue, PO Box 2864 Akron, OH 44309.
