Dallas L. Holbert, age 80, of Akron, Ohio, died on February 8, 2021 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on September 6, 1940 in Akron, the son of the late William Clyde and Alma Dinah (nee Lohr) Holbert.
Dallas was an honorably discharged US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
Dallas graduated from high school in 1958. He earned his pilots license while in the service. He loved to fly. His beloved son, Craig, who preceded him in death, followed his father's footsteps in getting his pilots license, loving to fly. He was a devout fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Dallas was an avid golfer.
He was a member and usher at The Chapel in Akron for many years.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, the former Janet Elsie Holb, whom he married on April 10, 1965. Other survivors include his beloved grandson, Christopher Holbert and daughter-in-law, Angela "Angie" (nee Carter) Holbert; and many other family members and special friends.
Other than his parents and son, those that preceded him in death was his sister, Donna Dewey and his brother, David Holbert.
Due to Covid-19 calling hours and services will be for immediate family members only, where Pastor Dale Saylor will celebrate Dallas' life. For those of you attending, please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
