Dallas R. Rush

Dallas R. Rush, 77, passed away April 25, 2024 after a brief illness. Born in Akron, Ohio to Clyde and Elma (Halladay) Rush, he was a lifelong area resident. Dallas was proud to be a U. S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam, and he retired from Babcock & Wilcox after many years of service. He enjoyed attending church, being sociable and giving gifts to those he crossed paths with, sending cards to loved ones, watching movies and TV shows and visiting with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Dallas was preceded in death by his brother, David Rush. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, April Vickers; granddaughter, Kara Vickers; close friend, Aaron; 6 siblings; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Dallas' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
