Dan R. Edwards, born August 5, 1954, died suddenly on January 9, 2005. He was a loving and caring person that would do anything for anyone; always giving, never taking. Dan was an employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 25 years and his memberships included Mogadore VFW 8487, Firestone VFW 3383, Mogadore Moose 1082. He was loved by many family and friends. Survived by his father, Donald Edwards of Akron; step-mother, Dorothy of Akron. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife of 17 years, Kelly of Springfield Twp.; he had a special place in his heart for all his children even in distance and was a wonderful father to his daughters, Shannon (Kevin) Edward Gleydura, Stephanie (Jason) Dawkins of Mogadore, Danielle Edwards of Stow, Renee Edwards of Stow; grandfather to the love of his life, Shawn Michael Dawkins; brothers, Tom (Debbie) of Tallmadge, Tim (Debie) of Lakemore, Guy (Andrea) of Pennsylvania; he deeply loved and cared about his mother-in-law, Vinnie Crispin; father-in-law, Richard Postlethwaite. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Richard Postlethwaite officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
