Daniel Vincent Foglio

Daniel Vincent Foglio, born April 22, 1947, passed away July 23, 2017 now joins with his son Jeremy Burkett. Beloved father, grandfather and brother, survived by his daughters, Samantha Foglio and Jennifer Sanor, five grandchildren Kade, Karma, Kalynn, Adecynn and Camryn, brother Patrick Foglio, and sister Max Anderson.

Danny was liked by everyone he met and loved by everyone who knew him. He was dedicated and devoted to his family.

He proudly served two tours in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from August 1965 to November 1967. He served with the 101st Airborne 1st Brigade Division receiving multiple awards and medals including National Defense Service Medal, a 4-star Bronze Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Expert Marksman Badge and Parachutist, to name a few. He also served at the U.S. Army Security Agency in Arlington, V.A. and with Company B 2nd Battalion 502nd Infantry. He was very proud of his service.

Following his military service, Danny was a self-employed Carpenter for 45 years, building houses from the ground up.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-5 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
