Daniel James Schlagenhauser, 27, of Akron, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2010. Daniel was born in Akron on March 17, 1983. He attended Waterloo High School where he played football. Daniel owned his own construction company and was a member of Community Baptist Temple. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Daniel was loved by everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered as a hard working man and a wonderful husband and father. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Danny; grandmother, Nancy Walker; and grandparents, Harold and Audrey Schlagenhauser. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Summer Michelle and Abigail Faith; mother, Eva Marie Walker; step-parents, David O. and Rexanna Leichliter; siblings, Dawn Marie Holmes, Dawn Renee Champion, David W. (Kimmie) Leichliter, Ken Crawford, and Andrew Crawford; grandparents, Dallas and Judy Walker; nieces and nephews, Dustin Kaltwasser, Keri Holmes, Christian Holmes, Aaron Champion, Alexis Little, Gregory Thrasher, David Leichliter, and Kari Leichliter; uncles, Dallas Walker Jr., Kurt (Gina) Walker, and Jay Walker; aunt, Wendy Schlagenhauser; and many other relatives and friends. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Visitation on Wednesday from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Community Baptist Temple on Canton Rd., Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daniel's family.
