Daniel R. Kintz
Daniel R. Kintz, passed away June 3, 2005. He was born March 8, 1945. He was born and lived in Randolph, Ohio and attended St. Joseph Grade School; moved to Kent and attended Kent Middle School; and moved to Akron and attended Buchtel High School. Daniel joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. He returned home and worked the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Dan entered and graduated from the Bricklayers Apprentice Program. He was a well-respected and skilled craftsman of the masonry trades representing the highest standards of quality for the craft. He both worked on and supervised many masonry projects in the Akron and surrounding area. His expertise and scope of work ranged from supervising the University of Akron Law Library to residential homes. His memberships included Bricklayers Local 7, Army-Navy Club 273 and the V.F.W. Preceded in death by his parents James and Kathryn Kintz; brothers Jack, James, and Charles; and sister Cecelia Horning. Dan is survived by his wife, Karen (Krohmer); daughters, Teresa (George) Pofok and Cheryl (Todd) Williams; sons, Eric (Nichole) McDuffie and William (Rande) McDuffie; grandchildren, Erica, Breanna, Micayla, Kathryn, and George; sister, Marie (James) Boal; brothers, Michael (Rosemary) and Thomas; aunt, Mary Fela; many niceces and nephews. He will be missed by many. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Randolph with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
