Daniel L. Wolfenbarger, Jr.
Daniel L. Wolfenbarger, Jr., 58, of Akron, passed away October 30, 2007 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1949 in Akron, Ohio. His hobbies included riding his Harley, camping, fishing, singing and music. He was a charter member of the Sons of God, member of AA and served as a volunteer with the Akron Community Drug Board. Dan was a shining example of how Jesus Christ and AA could turn a soul around. He was deeply grateful for his friend and sponsor, Gene Robinson and true brother of his heart, Bob Cole. Later in his life, he was not affiliated with any particular church. When asked his denomination, he called himself a "pedestrian." He was a man trying to walk the spiritual path of Jesus Christ. Dan was always willing to witness and help others find their way. He was warm, caring, generous, strong and patient man. He could tell a good joke or various tales of his "adventurous" life. Dan always gave of himself to his family, friends and even complete strangers if needed. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. Presently, he is riding his Harley in the streets of heaven. Dan leaves behind his devoted wife, Christine; daughters, Jolene Dixon (Rikki) of Green and Jessica Tiery (Richard) of Akron; sons, Bill (Trisha) Vanicheck of Elyria, Zakk (Bobbi) Phillips of Akron and John Hill (Shirley) of Akron; 14 grandchildren with one on the way; sisters, Carolyn Britton (Johnny) of Uniontown, Tina Walinski (Rick) of Ravenna and Shirley Hinkle of Akron.
