Daniel P. Rafferty

Daniel P. Rafferty, "Dan", age 81, of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

He was born on April 26, 1941, in Akron, the son of the late Patrick and Myrtle (nee Lockney) Rafferty, the youngest and last survivor of eight children.

Dan served in the US Army.

Dan retired as a truck driver in 1985. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his loving wife and family. Dan also loved the Lord, and he spread the Word every chance he got. Many people knew him as "Deacon Dan".

Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Pratt, whom he married on August 28, 1962, a true love story, 60 years in the making; his three sons, Daniel B. (Karen) Rafferty, Bryan (Marcia) Rafferty and Robert "Bubba" (Kim) Rafferty; a bonus son, Adam (Darla) Norman; his grandchildren, Benjamin Rafferty, Cassie Rafferty, Kaite (Russell) Kline, Lexie Rafferty, Alyssa Rafferty and McKenna Rafferty; and two great-grandchildren, James "JJ" Huffman and Aleia Huffman.

Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 7:00 PM, where Mr. Ben Cully will celebrate Daniel's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.

Burial will be private, for family only, on Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.
