Danny G. Keeling

Danny G. Keeling, 71, of Coventry Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 25, 2025. He was born in Akron, Ohio on September 21, 1953 to the late Thomas Marshall Keeling Sr. and Mary Lois Carpenter Keeling.

Danny loved his Savior, Jesus Christ and was a lifelong Baptist church member. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved being out on the water with his father and brothers, son, grandsons, and friends. His other love in life was football and he found great joy in watching his grandsons on the field. You could find Danny on the fifty yard line, ten rows up on most Friday nights. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and faithfully watched every game.

Danny will always be remembered for the songs he made up for his children and grandchildren, his poetry, his love of coaching, playing and watching football, his love of family, his hunting and fishing skills, and for being the most awesome PaPa ever.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Keeling.

Danny will be truly missed by his wife, Karen Keeling; children, Shea (Rick) Duckworth, James Keeling, Shannon (Donnie Smith) Keeling, Amanda (Brad) Cassidy, and Jason (Jackie) Martin; siblings, Tommy (Kelly) Keeling, Ronnie (June) Keeling, Jeanie (Randy) Knapp, and Pamela (Jim) Garner; grandchildren, Ava Duckworth, Leylah Cassidy, Canaan Keeling Smith, Daylon Keeling Smith, Aidan Keeling, and Eden Smith; great-granddaughter, Adaline Cassidy; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Special thanks to Rachael Callihan of Compassus Hospice. Danny's family appreciates the kindness and care Rachael showed him in his final days and the care and support that she continues to show to our family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. immediately followed by a 6:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Robert Seymour officiating at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
