Darius Cassell

Darius Cassell, 85, of Tallmadge, passed away on April 19, 2018. Darius was born in Scott County, Virginia on June 15, 1932 to the late Geoffrey and Nora Castle. Darius proudly served in the U.S. Army in MacArthur's Honor Guard. He saw combat in two tours of the Korean War. Darius was schooled as a machinist and owned Exodus Machine for 20 years. He retired from Reuther Mold & Die. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Fred, and Daril. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Faye; children, Sue (Ted) Schechter, Carl (Diane) Cassell, and Carla Cassell-Mertus (Mark); brother, Larry; eleven grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives. Darius was a proud grandfather of all his grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 4:30-6:00 followed by a 6:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
