Darlene Mae Toth, 77, passed away on December 18, 2022. She was born in Akron on December 8, 1945, to the late Clifton and Charlene Godfrey. Darlene graduated from Garfield High School and devoted her life to her family and was the main caregiver. Later in life, she decided to pursue a nursing degree and became an LPN while still juggling her large family. Caregiving was her passion and she especially enjoyed working with the elderly.
Darlene was adventurous and loved to travel, she especially enjoyed her annual trips to Las Vegas with her sister, Glenda and other family members. She loved to try new things and on one of her last adventures took a joy ride in a helicopter. Darlene enjoyed taking care of her yard and would zip around in her golf cart, often with one of her many grandchildren sitting shotgun. She was very creative and loved working with her hands whether it be painting, scrapbooking or woodworking. Her favorite gifts were always tools.
Darlene loved all the holidays - especially Halloween and Christmas. Halloween was a time for playing pranks and scavenger hunts; and Christmas she spent making it magical for her family and others. She was a wonderful wife, super-mom, and grandmother and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her sisters, Pattie and Glenda, and brother, Jimmy. She is survived by her husband, Jim Toth; children, Angel Aldstadt, James (Jenny) Aldstadt, Melissa (Bret Jagger) Hentosz, William (Leticia) Edsall, Jason Edsall, and Jeffrey (Tara) Edsall; grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Jessica, Megan (Jacob), Kaycee, Kendall, Cody (Adrienne), Brittany, Michael, Sofia, Landon, and Abel; great-grandchildren, Braeden, Sydney, Charlie, Chelsey, Zoey, and Zara; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends including her best friend of over 70 years, Joanne Rienzi.
