Darren M. Betz

Darren M. Betz "The Big Wazoo", age 47, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 after a long and arduous battle with cancer. He was born on October 20, 1965. Darren worked as a warehouse manager in Houston, TX for several years and was a longtime resident of the Ellet area. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His heart was as 'big as Texas' and his passion for life came from his son, his reason for fighting so hard through his illness.

Darren is survived by his son, Spencer M. Betz, mother, Patricia (Tom) Quinn, sister, Michelle Betz-Morris, brother-in-law and friend, Garret Morris, many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Cliff, Steve and Charlie for being his angels in Texas and a very special thanks to James Hall "Redbone" for a lifelong friendship and his continued support to Darren's family and son.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Lifespring Christian Church, 1828 Marigold Ave, Akron, OH 44301. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions received will establish a fund for his son.
