Daun Ellen Gay
On Sunday, April 1, 2012, Daun Ellen Gay, 73, died in the loving presence of her family. Daun was born in Akron on November 30, 1938 to the late George and Hazel Bonner.
She was a devoted lifelong member of the Clearview United Methodist Church. In her free time, she was an avid Indians fan and enjoyed gardening, bowling, and winning at poker. She was a member of the Red Hats Society.
In addition to her parents, Daun was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill"; brother, David Bonner; and grandson, Joshua Gay. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Bill (Lynn) and Brian Gay; sisters, Sue (Dave) Slater and Georgia (Jerry) Arison; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Tyler, and Zac. A special thank you to Daun's granddaughter Alyssa for all the loving care she provided over the past months.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 4 from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Anne Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearview United Methodist Church, 1733 Massillon Rd., Akron, OH 44312.
