David Burton Ball

David Burton Ball, 87, passed away peacefully December 10, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born in Baxter, WV to Samuel Columbus "Clem" and Helen Grace (Matyi) Ball, he resided in Akron and Springfield Township, Ohio all of his adult life. David retired from Ford Motor Company as head electrician with 47 years of service. He was a Veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard. David was a Master Mason, 32nd Scottish Rite Freemason for 41 years. Along with his wife, Sandi, he was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. David was a longtime Ham radio operator, call sign: WD8BBY. He enjoyed photography, building computers, taking care of his yard and pool and spending time with his family and dog.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Elsie Varga, Marilyn Ballou, James Ball, Tom Ball. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Sandi; daughters, Melanie (Daniel) Ball Muhich, Mindi (Brett) Reinbolt; grandchildren, Michael (Casey), Christopher (Alisha), Jonathan (Paige), Laura (Drew), Darianne; 13 great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Bella; siblings, Judith Bock, Nancy D'Amico, Sharon Kubeck, Susan Hurd, Gary Ball.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Those who wish may make memorial donations in David's name to Lakemore Dogs Homeward Bound (2214 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312), Springfield Twp Fire Local 3040 (2454 Waterloo Rd., Akron, OH 44312) or Lakemore Fire Department (1400 Main St., PO Box 455, Lakemore, OH 44250).
