David J. Barbuto
Dave lost his courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) on June 5, 2006 at age 65. He had a smile for everyone, and maintained his calm strength and tenacious spirit until the end. Dave loved life, and lived his life with enthusiasm. His passions were fishing and golfing. He loved nature, reading, good food, family holidays and events, gym workouts with his buddies, the Indians and Browns; but most of all he loved people. He brought out the good in people. Dave was a remarkably good man--a man of quiet strength, a ready smile, a gentle and generous nature, and genuine compassion. He will be remembered as a humble man of stark honesty and unwavering integrity, with a heart bigger than his chest. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Vito Barbuto and Connie Barbuto Perri. He will be deeply missed by his wife Bobby; his brothers Dan (Valdene) and Donald Barbuto; children Tony (Julie) and Michael (Theresa) Barbuto; Robin Foore, Lori (Richard) Buterbaugh, Robert (Lisa) Montgomery, Barbara (Scott) Laughlin, Beth (Brian) Repasky; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and 93 year-old aunts Mary Rich and Grace Constantine, and aunt, Julia Flasco in California. We would like to give special recognition to our Harbor Light Hospice team, his home caregiver Crystal Dabney; and the ALS Association. The family extends heartfelt thanks to each and every wonderful neighbor and friend whose prayers, cards, support, meals, visits, and gifts brought strength, hope, and sunshine into our lives. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter, 2500 East 22nd St., Ste. 102, Cleveland, OH 44115.
