David William Berkenstock

David William Berkenstock, age 48 passed away April 21, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

David was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, papa and brother. His favorite thing in life was spending time with his family, and attending any event that involved his children and grandchildren. David loved hunting, and fishing with "Baby Girl." He was a hardworking man, but always made time for the most important people in his life, including his immeasurable amount of dear friends.

David is preceded in death by his father John David Berkenstock, his infant son Dylan Berkenstock and his good friend Robbie Patterson.

He is survived by his adoring wife Shannon; mother Robin Berkenstock; children Zakeri (Rebecca Swope), Ryan and Maxwell Berkenstock, and his chosen son Justin (Brittani) Stanley; grandchildren Addyson, Justin Jr., Sophia, and one on the way; brothers Keith (Sandy Turnbaugh) and John (Sara Greathouse) Berkenstock; mother- and father-in-law Bill (Debbie) Young; dear friends Josh (Michelle) Oliver, Mickey (Mandy) Zook and Walter (Mary) Sayers.

David's family would like to extend special thanks to the Oncology Department of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General, especially Dr. Laurie Matt-Amaral and Dr. Scott Awander.

Friends and family are welcome to visit on Thursday, April 29, from 3:00 until 5:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305. Please plan to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A private service will be held for David's immediate family.
