David Lee Carnes of Akron, Ohio passed away on June 12, 2021. He was 78 years old.
David was born on November 21, 1942 in Anderson, SC to Joe and Josephine Stasney Carnes who preceded him in death. David graduated from Garfield High school in 1961 and joined the Air Force where he was stationed in Roswell, New Mexico and Spain. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 44 years of service. David married Brenda Kay Keaton in 1962 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage. They have one son, Joe Edward Carnes (Akron). In addition to his wife and son, David leaves behind a sister, Bobbie (Carnes) Weatherholtz (Glen), a granddaughter Deserae Carnes, grandson Joe (Buster) Carnes, three great grandchildren IvyRae, Lucas, and Dallas.
Newcomer Funeral Home is coordinating a private burial in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Passion Church Hartville, Ohio.
