David Case

January 19, 1945 — February 1, 2022

David Case, 77, passed away February 1, 2022. He was born January 19, 1945 to Harley and Margaret (Hoole) Case. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served in both Germany and Vietnam. Upon returning to civilian life, he spent his working years in logistics at P.I.E. Nationwide in Richfield. Dave loved singing in his church choir as well as with the Goodyear Singers, and Peace Together Choir. It was a performance at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center that inspired him to volunteer there. He found his passion for tending to patients and their families. He so enjoyed his years there, often bringing brownies and chocolates to the wonderful nurses and staff. It is so fitting that he was able to spend his final days in a place so meaningful to him. His family greatly appreciates the compassionate care he received.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mary Ann, Margaret, Martha, Chuck and Frank; his father-in-law, Frank; and his beloved granddaughter, Maddy. He was loved by so many for his comedic personality and quick one-liners. He will be most missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy; son Tim (Dedra) Case and daughters Ellie (Dan) Perella and Karen (Mark) Huelsman. He loved being Papa Dave to all of his "favorite" grandchildren: Jake (Ashley), Maddy, Joey (fiancée Grace), Hailey (fiancée Zach), Amanda, Mitch, and Meghan. He loved to watch all of his grandkids in their sports and extra-curriculars, with cherished hugs, congratulations or condolences after games or performances. Papa Dave was a loving and often loud cheerleader! He also leaves great grandson, Easton; his 99 year old mother-in-law Carylin Balchak; his brother Joe (Tracey) Case and sister Sally (Dan) Kohut; as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
