David J. Caton was born to Jacqueline and Herbert Caton on March 25, 1949. He was not going down without a good fight, "Caton the Giant Killer" lost his battle to cancer on February 27, 2021. Dave grew up in Akron but was a Tallmadge resident most of his life. He worked for Local 33 sheet metal and was a part of the union for 53 years. He worked on many northeast Ohio jobs and made a lasting impact on our community. He was a man of many talents, from his distinct voice singing "House of the Rising Sun", to his perfectly fried plate-size pancakes. He could mold metal, fix anything (unless it was a computer), and had a gearhead brain that no one could match. He enjoyed riding Harleys with his friends, golfing, fishing, hunting and was always the life of the party. He could be seen drag racing or riding around town in his fire-engine red 55 Chevy. Just like his hole-in-one, he packed his life full and he's now cruising into heaven's rising sun.
David is survived by his wife, Nancy Caton; his children, Daniel (Rhonda) Caton, Debbie (Travis) Mayle, Barbara Brown, Ray Baughman;
siblings, Claudia (Jerry) Wilson, Rebecca Lehman; and his 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
