David Charles Campbell

David Charles Campbell, 76, went home to be with the Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer, on September 19, 2008. He was born in Akron and is a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a teacher and the assistant basketball coach at East High School. David loved his music, Cav's and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Elizabeth Campbell; brothers Jim, Bill, Dick and Bob. He is survived by his loving wife, of 53 years, Helen; daughter Vicki (Mike) Hoard, granddaughter Ashley; sister Jane Hatch; brother-in-law Jerry (Jo An) Sanders and sister-in-law Gloria (Clayton) Sanders. The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Payne, her wonderful staff, radiation technicians at Summa, Summa Visiting Nurse Service, Hospice of Summa, Nurse Tom Hoffman, caregiver Lacey, friends and family for the prayers, visits, cards and phone calls. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 - 8 PM. Interment will be at Sharon Center Cemetery.
