David D. Camp
David D. Camp, 75, of Tallmadge, passed away December 9, 2007 at his residence. He was born March 28, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James & Winiford (Sadler) Camp. David served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was very musically talented, having played in the OSU Marching Band, sang in Barbershop Quartets and the church choir. He worked for Central Instrument for many years where he taught tuba, trombone and trumpet. David was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Franklin Camp and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Henson) Camp; daughter, Laura Carolyn Camp-Smith (Todd); son, William Andrew Camp (Colleen); grandchildren, Nikkolas A. Camp, Taylor D. Camp, Cheyenne C. Camp, Dakota C. Camp, Caitlyn M. Smith, Olivia M. Smith and Ethan D. Smith; dear friend, Ardis Smith, who helped out in so many ways. A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron with Pastor John Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the service begins.
