David D. Mandrone
David D. Mandrone, 88, our beloved father, peacefully passed away December 28, 2010 with his family at his side. He was a member of the Carovillese Club, and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II where he received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. David was an avid golfer where he achieved the ultimate a hole-in-one, he loved fishing and gardening, had a wonderful sense of humor, and never knew a stranger. We will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, June. David is survived by his sons, David (Becky) and Domenic; sister, Delores Nickell; niece, Billy Carol; and many other loving family members. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral mass will be held Monday, January 3, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with Fr. John Hengle officiating, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
