David E. Bokar
David E. Bokar, 69, passed away July 12, 2009 after a long illness at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. His passions were his family, model trains, muzzle loading, traveling, and in more recent years, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and his companion Boots, his dog. David retired from Ford Motor Company in 2001 after 25 years of service and was a member of the UAW Local #420 retirees were he served as a recording secretary for 6 years. David was dedicated to his family and friends, whether to offer a hand or a smile. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Andrea. He is survived by his children, Beverly Bokar-Dreher (Gary Frazier), Douglass (Tina), Timothy (Tracy Testa) and Edward (Valerie); grandchildren, Ashliegh Dreher, Amanda Bokar and Anthony Bokar; sister-in-law, Claudia Douglass of Mt. Pleasant, MI; nephew, Daniel Douglass (Elizabeth); brother-in-laws, David Douglass (Geni) of Bedford, TX and Ronald Douglass (Faye) of WA; long time family friend, Gayle Thompson; and many family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, July 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at UAW Local #420 Union Hall, 7800 Northfield Rd., Walton Hills, OH, 44146. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNS Hospice Care Center in Copley.
