David E. Burket
David E. Burket, 77, of Akron, passed away March 26, 2010. David was born July 28, 1932 in Claysburg, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Grace Burket. David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He attended The Chapel in Green and enjoyed bowling and golfing in his free time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice. He will be deeply missed by his children, Douglas Burket, Darrel (Jill) Burket, Jodi Burket, and Julie (Hans) Henning; grandchildren, Sophie and Jackson Henning; sisters, Sally (Vernon) Fetter, Louise (Ron) Eicher, and Lois Rafferty; brothers, Ted (Ethel), John (Rose), and Rev. O. Homer (Colleen) Burket. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., Rev. O. Homer Burket officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517.
