David R. Heckman

David R. Heckman, 72, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2018. David was born in Akron, Ohio on October 19, 1945 to the late Joseph and Eleanor Heckman. David retired from the Hudson Police Department as a Patrolman where he worked for 32 years.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his siblings and his foster son, Jacob Courie.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Heckman; his granddaughter, SaVannah and her son, the light of David's life, JJ. He also leaves behind 3 sons, 2 daughters and all the children he fostered for 17 years.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 11 am-1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, with the funeral service to begin immediately following visitation at 1 pm with The Reverend Canon, Leigh Aaron Kester officiating.
