David J. Bates, 73, passed away July 27, 2011. David was born in Akron on December 29, 1937 to Victor and Regina Bates. He was a lifelong resident of Akron. David is survived by his children, Laura Diego, Lisa Pohl, Sian Ohlson, and Sean Bates; and brother, Phil Bates. Cremation has taken place, and a family memorial gathering will be scheduled.
