David L. Dodson

David L. "Pap" Dodson, 65, passed away on July 1, 2012. Born in Akron on March 15, 1947 to the late Fred and Jennie Dodson. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1965 and served with the Navy during the Vietnam War. David had been employed at Xerox for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Fran, of 34 years; sons, Jeff (Jenn) Beisecker, Michael (Mia) West, David Dodson; daughters, Tami (Neil) McEldowney, Lexie Dodson; grandchildren, Meghan, Rose, Jessie, Ryan, Katie, Jeffrey, Tyler, Brayden, Kallie, Aly, Ronnie, Ariana; sisters, Alyce (Albert) Shannon, Sharon (Chuck) Grow; sister-in-law, Janice (Ron) Wartko ; 1 niece; 6 nephews; special friends, Tommy, Rex, Mikey, Dan, and John.

Special thanks to Dr. Patel at the Cooper Cancer Center and all the wonderful Summa nurses at the Cancer Center, ICU, 7E, and 6W, who cared for David.

Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held Friday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
