David J. Lash, 73, passed away unexpectedly March 4, 2021, in Akron, Ohio.
David was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Irene (Emry) Lash.
He will be sadly missed by siblings Nancy Kasza, Robert, James (Linda), Jean (Tim) Wojciechowski, Thomas (Adrian Murphy), Donald (Lorene), Edward (Kyle), Joanne (Tim) Goodall, nieces and nephew, and great nieces and nephews. His beloved friends, the Slawter family, Gary, Allene, Stephen (and children), and Christina, will remember him fondly.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 10, 1947, David graduated from West Tech High School in 1965 and had wonderful memories of his days as drum major for the marching band. After attending Cleveland Technician School, he moved to the Akron area where he resided for many years. David was an electronic technician who primarily worked as an independent contractor. He greatly enjoyed music, reading, bicycling the tow path, baking delicious Christmas cookies, and spending time with his close-knit family. David was a jack-of-all-trades who did everything to perfection and was always ready to help on other's projects, asking nothing in return. If we are to judge a man by the content of his character, David was among the best of the best.
Family and friends are invited on Thursday, March 11, 2021, for visitation beginning at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. We will then proceed to the Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd., Brook Park, OH 44142. Please expect to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. Memorial donations may be made in David's name to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
