David Lee Batten

David Lee Batten, 83, of Brimfield, passed away July 27, 2013. He was born in Akron on November 23, 1929 to the late Everett and Naomi Batten. Dave was a life long member of Firestone Park Christian Church. He retired from Aircraft Braking Systems in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol (Grigg); sons, David (Denise) and James (Michelle); 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff at Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their exceptional care of Dave.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 31, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A funeral service will follow calling hours on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rich Ferris officiating. Interment at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E. Wilbeth Rd., Akron 44301.
