David L. Longshore, 64, of Akron, went to Heaven on April 9, 2021. He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 18, 1956 to Robert and Ruth Longshore. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1975.
Dave was an entrepreneur and always had a garage to work in. He was talented at restoring auto parts, and took great pride in his work. He was a collector of many things, including glassware, pottery, and antiques -- all of which he was tremendously knowledgeable about. He loved German Shepherds and had many of them over the years.
Dave had a heart of gold and never spoke a bad word about anyone. He always made time for those closest to him and was willing to help anyone out. He never turned down a good steak or conversation. Above all, Dave cherished spending time with the love of his life, Trina, and his children.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Dennis.
He will deeply missed by his wife of 38 years, Trina; children, Jonathan (Angela Black) Longshore and Marie (Rick Coy) Longshore; siblings, Mary Jane (Don) Pniaczek, Gene (Karen) Longshore, Donald (Paula) Longshore, Robert E. Longshore Jr., Roberta Longshore, Ruth Bennett, Rita James, and Ronald Longshore; his beloved canine companion, Raven; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday April 16, 2021 from 10am until 12pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. A memorial service will begin at 12pm, officiated by Rev. Rory Wineka. Please wear masks and observe social distancing.
