David Allan Morgan (b. Dec. 5, 1946) died on January 22, 2024 at Akron Summa Hospital surrounded by loved ones. David is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Morgan, his father, Lester Morgan, and his Uncle, Stanly Morgan. He is survived by his life-long partner and friend, and wife of many years, Diane Benko Morgan, his Son, Zachary Morgan, His Daughter Lauren Morgan, his grandchildren Max, Willa, Rudy, and Iris, and his brother, Roger Morgan.
David lived a life of teaching and mentoring in many ways. In his young adulthood he taught at Barberton High school and coached swim team and managed the pool at the Barberton Community Fitness Center. He continued teaching swimming lessons throughout his life to children, stopping only once Covid made teaching impossible. David served his country as an airborne ranger in the U.S. Army. He worked in real-estate most of his adult life and was passionate about helping people achieve the American Dream of becoming a home-owner. He also taught Real-Estate classes at Hondros Business College. David loved golfing with his friends, literature, listening to comedians, watching old Westerns, and spending time with his family. David will be missed for his humor, wit, and affable nature, as well as his deep sense of compassion and care he showed so many people.
Visiting hours will begin at 1pm and a memorial service will follow at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home.
