David I Papaioan, also known as D.I., 50 of Akron, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2020.
D.I. was born on January 18, 1969 in Queens, New York to Michael and Evelyn Papaioan. He was the youngest of four children: Richard, Stefania, Mihail and David (D.I.). He graduated from Ellet High School, class of 1987. He married Gisela Gamble on June 24, 2000 in Akron, Ohio. They welcomed a baby girl, Jacquelyn, on April 20,1989.
D.I. had a wonderful sense of humor and loved teasing his friends and family. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping, boating, riding motorcycles and spending time with family. He was fun-loving, intelligent and mechanically inclined.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Evelyn Papaioan, and brother, Richard Weidlich.
D.I. is survived by his best friend, Gisela Papaioan; daughter, Jacquelyn (Adam Todhunter) Papaioan; granddaughters, Cheekz, Jordyn and Jayde; sister, Stefania (Dave) Natko; nephew, David (Bri) and their daughter, Everly; nephew, Dylan (Kara); nephew, Dakota; nephew, Richard (Stephanie) Weidlich and their children, Richard, Hailey, Kailyn, and Jocelyn; aunt, Vicki Crisp; close childhood friend, John Asher; and brother, Mihail Papaioan.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Akron Bible Church and Pastor Randy Baker and good friend, John Asher.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 10th at The Akron Bible Church 783 Brown Street Akron, Ohio 44311 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will follow beginning at 8 p.m.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held on January 18, 2020 at the G Spot, 137 E. South Street, Akron, Ohio from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
