David James Pontefract

David James Pontefract, 69, of New Franklin, passed away on August 3, 2024. He was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1955 to the late Clyde Bertram Pontefract and Elva Susann Pontefract Hackel {Ritz}. 

Dave started his career as a welder and mechanical assembler, working for Weaver Sheet Metal and Ball Corporation. After a few years as a lab technician at Goodrich Aerospace, Dave earned his real estate license and began a new career as a realtor and broker until his retirement in 2019.

In his free time, Dave enjoyed collecting guitars, watching Westerns and MMA matches, and playing WOW with his community of friends.

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rita Pontefract; children, Sheila Peacock, David Pontefract II, and Benjamin Pontefract; brothers, Bob (Linda) Pontefract and Clyde Pontefract; sisters, Susanne Pontefract and Dawn (Kevin) Morrissey; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Dave will be privately laid to rest at Manchester Cemetery.
