David Michael Rick, "Dave", age 67 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 17, 2022.
He was born on November 28, 1954 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of Carol (nee Cultrona) Rick, with whom he lived and the late Francis Rick. His dad, Francis, was in the US Navy in Virginia for four years. They later moved back to Akron where the family was from.
During his younger years, Dave, enjoyed playing with the neighbor kids. He also liked spending time with his best friend, Ronnie and loved to watch TV.
During his teenage years he had fun being involved with a Drum and Majorette group playing the bass drum and marching in various parades with his sister, Theresa.
After graduating from Akron East High School, he was able to work for a short period of time as a bagger at the local Acme store. He took a lot of pride in doing his job well.
David has always had a love for animals and loved spending time with his grandma Cultrona. They were best buddies. He liked to draw and loved pizza.
He has spent the last several years with mom and dad. Helping mom take care of dad until his passing a year ago.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his sister, Theresa (Jack) Norris; his nieces and nephews, Erick (Michelle) Norris, Jeremy Norris and Jason (Katie) Norris; his great-niece and great-nephews, Ivan, Ella and Graham.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio, there will not be any calling hours or services and David will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, in David's memory.
