David Ray Wagner

June 22, 1949 — December 21, 2017

David Ray Wagner, 68, passed away on December 21, 2017 peacefully surrounded by his family. He graduated from Springfield High School and served in the US Navy for 4 years. He retired from Akron Burial Vault. David also coached baseball and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a lifelong member of East Market Street United Church of Christ. David also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid reader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and David (Bob) Wagner; and brother, Timothy Wagner. David is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy (Kornas); children, David (Diane)Wagner, Sean (Mae) Wagner and Melissa (Eddie) Saenz; siblings, Lorin J. Wagner and Joy C. Wagner; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday December 26, 2017 from 1-2pm with the memorial service immediately following at Trinity United Church of Christ 915 N. Main St. Akron, OH 44310. Pastor David Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Boy Scouts of America/Great Trail Council.
