Debbie was born to Charles, II and Patricia Hawkins in Portsmouth, OH on May 20, 1955. It was there she found the Lord in a Southern Baptist Church. She attended Kent State University where she met Fred Stevens. They blessed the earth with three beautiful baby girls. After a five-year fight with an anoxic brain injury, Debbie Stevens went home to glory on Monday, November 19, 2007. She leaves her memory in the hearts of many; three daughters, Saunya (Tony) Edmonds, of Barberton, Shannon and Sheena Stevens, of Akron; six granddaughters, Taunya, Aireus, Trysten, Tonee, Briyah, and Betheny; two brothers, Jeff (Annie) Hawkins, of Akron and Jerry (Kelli) Lowman, of Ashland, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. Deb is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Pat and Charles; brother Charles Hawkins, III (Bud-11/07/07); her mother-in-law Estella Stevens; and her brother-in-law Chester Stevens, Sr. Calling hours will be Monday, 11-12 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 190 S. Maple, Akron, OH 44302 with a funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
