Debby L. Vernotzy, age 64 of Akron passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Debby was born on March 10, 1957 to the late Glenn and Millie {Rowe} Vernotzy.
Debby's memory will always be cherished by her sister Wendy (Mark) Wilkinson; brother Larry (Debra) Vernotzy; nieces Monica Wilkinson, Mindy (Rick) Hogg, Marisa Wilkinson, Tanya (Bob) Grimes and Marli (Justin) Pack; uncles Tom (Donna) Rowe and Joseph Rowe; aunt Patricia Kurke; many great-nieces and -nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Debby was a 1975 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. After high school, Debby began her career in service to her community, working as a bartender and then as a florist before beginning her training at the Akron School of Nursing, where she excelled. Debby obtained her LPN license in 1995 and worked at Valley View, Select Specialty Care, and The Merriman during her nursing career. Her patients and co-workers loved her dedication, sense of humor and compassion.
Debby was smart, had an incredible memory and many talents. She made beautiful jewelry and crafts. She loved the movies, Wonder Woman, Star Trek, and was also an avid reader. Throughout her life, Debby adopted and loved many cats. Debby's family would like to thank Debby's new friend and neighbor Tigg, who so graciously cared for and adopted Debby's beloved cats during this difficult time.

Per Debby's wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest with her parents at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. There will be a private memorial service held for Debby's family.
