Debra Mae Kolla, 68, of Akron, passed away on July 6, 2022. She was born on November 17, 1953 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Patricia Ochsenbein.
Debbie's greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother. When her daughters were young, she coached their softball teams and used her seamstress skills to create clothing for their Barbies and furnishings for their dollhouse. She also made beautiful prom and bridesmaid dresses.
Debbie also loved the outdoors and could often be found tending her rosebushes and feeding the birds and squirrels.
She was a longtime member of Eastern Star Chapter 483.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Ochsenbein and brothers-in-law, Ray "Sonny" Kola and his wife Phyllis and William "Bill" Howe.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Gary Kolla to whom she would have been married for 50 years in January 2023; daughters, Tanya (Richard) Herbert and Tina Lischak; grandchildren, Jared Herbert, Emily Herbert, Ayden Lischak, and Lucas Lischak; brothers, Michael (MiHui) Ochsenbein and Kim (Debbie) Ochsenbein; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Howe; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 1p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Following the services, Debbie will be privately laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
