Defany Dorie Houston

Ms. Defany Houston, age 61, passed away at home in Akron, OH, on August 25, 2018 of natural causes.
Defany enjoyed building unique bonds with each and every one of her grandchildren and greats. It gave her joy to cook a special meal made from the heart for loved ones. She was pretty much open to any new activity on any given day. Concerts, plays, and travel, not to mention playing chess, cards, or watching movies with her family. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for you if you needed anything with a big beautiful smile on. There aren't enough words to describe Defany Houston, also known as "Nana" or "Deffy" forever. You will be missed beyond belief.
Defany is survived by her two children Avril Dent Chambers and Chalonda Price, her siblings Vanessa Joy, Alice Houston, and Maxine Thurman. Her grandchildren Anthony Chambers, Latavreal Chambers, Jason Driver, Jordan Chambers, Destinie Price, Trinitie Price, and Jalen Smith and her great grandchildren Jason Driver Jr., Layla Chambers, and Bryson Chambers. Special relationships with her nieces Alisa Joy and Anasia Joy and nephew William Wilder. A host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father William Houston, mother Lula Houston, and her brother William Edward Houston.
