Deidra R. Wicks

Deidra R. Wicks, 57, passed away November 3, 2022 after an extended illness. Born in Akron, OH to Bill and Janice (Allen) Wicks, she was a lifelong area resident. Deidra previously worked as a cosmetologist at both Great Clips and Famous Hair. She greatly enjoyed her McDonald's coffee, watching game shows and soap operas on TV, going to the Outer Banks, motorcycle rides, listening to classic rock and spending time with her beloved family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Darlene Singleton, Dorrinda Bargerhuff and Daneen Townsend. She will be sadly missed by her partner of 21 years, Russell May; children, Kristin Young, Kevin (Vanessa) Young; sisters, Denise (Bobby) Mignano, Donnita (James) Singleton, Misty (Jimmy) Fike; best friend, Judy Cox; grandson Jordan, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Akron General Medical Center and Crossroads Hospice for their loving compassionate care of Deidra.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Deidra's family will be having a celebration of her life at a future date.
