Delbert A. Bloom, 83, surrounded by family, passed away on February 17, 2023. He was born on June 21, 1939 the son of the late Milford and Orpha Bloom. He was a man of faith and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a gifted singer and sang with a Gospel Quartette singing at many different churches. Delbert worked for 24 years at General Tire and then retired from St. Vincent- St. Mary's High School with 18 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #83 of Akron. He was an avid Bow Hunter enjoying hunting with family and friends in PA. He won many trophies displaying his expertise in Target Archery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 53 years, Wanda J. (Koehn) Bloom; and brothers Richard, Raymond, and Dwaine.
Delbert is survived by his loving family, daughter Parthena (Scott) Grinstead; sons Mark Bloom and Donald (Trish) Bloom; grandchildren Scott, Amie, Megan, and Lucas; great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Kayleigh, Layla, Hadley, Oliver, and Isaiah; daughter-in-law Amy Bloom; and other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 27, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Mark Ritzman officiating.
Interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
