Delcie A. Pierson, 97, of Akron, passed away January 4, 2013. She was born in Alma, WV on February 22, 1915 to the late William and Margaret Birch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, of 66 years; daughter, Margaret Jarvis; son-in-law, Delbert Jarvis. Delcie is survived by her son, Clyde (Carole) Pierson; grandchildren, Charlotte (Jim) Gemmel, Susan (Dean) Moore, Rick Murray, John (Kathy) Pierson, David Murray, Jeannie (Glen) Kozak, Mark (Jamie) Pierson; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 9, from 11-12:30 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will follow calling hours with Chaplain Bill Eshelman officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090
