Delmer C. McCallister
Delmer C. McCallister, 79, of Springfield Township, passed away November 3, 2008 at Kent Health Care. He was born March 14, 1929 in McCorkle, West Virginia to the late Atha (Cabell) McCallister. Delmer was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina (Quintrell) McCallister. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Bill) Carpenter and Marsha (Gary) Sword; sons, Ronnie L. McCallister and Leslie (Shirley) McCallister; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and special sister-in-law, Betty McCallister. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Kent Health Care, 1290 Fairchild Ave., Kent OH 44240.
