DELORES SHAW, daughter of the late Samuel "Sam" and Eva (nee Ransom) Shaw, was born on January 27, 1953, in Cleveland. She was called home on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Pearlview Care Center in Brunswick.
She confessed to Christ at an early age. She graduated from John Adams High School with a passion for sewing.
She developed a passion for sewing and made it into a career as a seamstress, first at Wagner Awning then at General Motors. She would later move on to welding and fabrication and eventually retired from Lordstown General Motors in 1999 after 27 years of service.
Delores Olivia Shaw was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves to celebrate her life her two children, Dashawnda Olivia (Ralphelle) Pryor-Smith and DeLorean Samuel (fiancee, Desirae Christian) Davis; her grandchildren, DeShawn Pryor, Devan Pryor, and R'phael Smith; her siblings, James Shaw, Phyllis Tullos, Bernice Shaw, and Velma Brown; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Other than her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her siblings, Earl, Sam Jr., William, and Harold Shaw, Shirley Miller, and Margaret Howard.
Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
